Local artist Alison Jenson returns to Rush after her debut in 2017 performing a duet with multi golden guitar winner Sara Storer at the celebrated Legends and the Locals show. Music has been a passion for Alison since a young age. During school she joined the Academy of Creative Arts Band and Vocal Group, performing at competitions and community events.  The opportunity to attend a song writing workshop in Gympie with Kevin Bennett, Lyn Bowtell and Felicity Urquhart was followed by an invitation to attend the Senior Academy of Country Music in Tamworth at 16. Co-writing with Lyn Bowtell and Catherine Britt and being mentored by Kevin Bennett fueled Alison’s passion for music and performing. Since graduating from high school, Alison has been making waves within the country music industry, performing at music festivals and events.

Alison’s music stands out from the crowd as she has a very unique style, which has been created through a mixture of inspiration from modern and classical country music, with a little spice of folky/blues.

During Alison’s high school years highlights included winning Junior Champion at Homestead 2015, the Open Section at the 2017 Widgee Country Music Festival and the Gospel and Country Rock section at the 2017 Homestead.

Whilst in Tamworth this year, Alison competed in the 2018 Aristocrat Country Entertainer of the Year. She was then selected to perform in the grand finale the following night, where she was then named this year’s Senior Aristocrat Country Entertainer of the Year – Runner Up.
