Artists invited to join Rush Festival 2018

It was the biggest event in 2017 for the Gympie region, and Council is now calling for expressions of interest from potential performers for this year’s Rush Festival.

Last year, more than 38,000 people enjoyed the celebration of creativity, arts, culture and heritage during October, which culminated in a massive concert featuring Jimmy Barnes.

Mayor Mick Curran said that the Rush Festival provides a platform to showcase a wide range of creative talent.

“We have a wealth of both accomplished and up and coming artists within our region and the Rush Festival is not only a fantastic month-long event for the community to enjoy – it’s an excellent opportunity for our local artists to perform.

“If you are a musician, artist, performer, arts worker or just have an innovative idea or creative project, then we would love to hear from you.”

Expressions of interest forms can be found on Council’s website

Submissions close on 23 June 2018.

Rush Festival 2018 will be held from 11 to 21 October and incorporate colour, music, dance, art, theatre, film and poetry.
